FALINN: (mythological character, good smith)
Brown 5+ yr old Gelding
DOB: 16/12/05
Sire: Galdur fra Daeli - Blue Dun
Dam: Saela fra Gudenadalen - Chestnut
He is a sweet
character who is a delight to ride and be around.
Falinn has lovely conformation, long legs and a supple neck.
He carries himself in
good form and is fun to do dressage with. Walk, Trot, Tolt and
Canter are very nice and even.
Falinn would be a great horse for a confident (intermediate) rider.
He has had his
feet done regularly, shod and his teeth done. He has had heaps of
groundwork and lead out. Participated in Great Western Pleasure ride
2011 as one of his first rides out with other breeds. I had the
pleasure of riding him for 40kms the first day, and it was a
fabulous experience for both of us.
BRAINN: (gold, old name for dragons and horses)
Bay Dun 4+ yr old Gelding
DOB: 06/01/2007
Sire: Galdur fra Daeli - Blue Dun
Dam: Venus fra Gudenádalen - Dark Brown
Bráinn is going to be a tölt machine! Showing lots of tolt when being worked with and in the paddock. He is a pretty horse and a gorgeous colour. He has had a lot done with him from the ground – was shy to begin with. He took the saddle like a trooper and trots around confidently with a rider in confined spaces.
His tolt is lovely to ride, as is his canter. Has been out riding on
the rides with other horses. Feet trimmed regularly & has been shod. At current stage would suit a confident, experienced rider to go on with.
PIPAR ( Pepper)
Grey with star - 3+yr old Gelding
DOB: 24/12/2007
Sire: Galdur Fra Dæli – blue dun
Dam: Blika from Gudenadalen – Grey
Pipar
has started training this year and is already riding out with the
other horses. He has been safe, happy and calm. Great horse for a
family or someone wanting a easy going, reliable pleasure riding
horse. Easy five gaited horse with lots of tolt in him. Friendly,
sweet ... highly recommend him!!!
DRAUMUR -
(Dream)
Bay 3+ yr old Gelding
DOB: 05/12/2007
Sire: Tandri Von Roetgen
Dam: Miska from Haldane Icelandic Horses
Nicely
built riding horse. Started training under saddle in October ...
he's just started tolt training and doing well. With a little more
experience he should be a very easy horse for most people to ride.
Has come a very long way in only a few weeks. He's really
lovely to ride and lots of fun to work with. Behaves the same inside
or outside the arena. He's been to the beach and a few rides out
with the other young horses around the farm.
Brunis' mother Gledi is one of our favourite breeding mares. She has consistently produced very impressive, showy five gaited horses with lots of character. The type of horse that catches your eye in the paddock. Bruni
is easy to handle and has always been one of the friendliest in the
group. He has had some basic groundwork training, consisting of
lunging and has been floated. He shows natural gaits in the paddock.
Has started training Oct 2011 and is doing really well.
UPDATE END NOV 2011
Bruni is now well under saddle. He is to
the point of being ridden out on his own and with groups around the
farm. Best with a confident, relaxed rider till he has gained more
experience. He is five gaited with lots of Tolt and Pace. Darling
horse with a great character!
Kobbi is a really likeable horse.
He is a pretty dark bay with a thick, long tail and mane. He
shows a lot of natural gait both in free in the paddock and when
lunged. A joy
to work with, he is curious, happy and responsive. He has a nice
conformation with a
well set neck, strong back and hindquarters. His mother and her
trained siblings have
proven to be good riding horses. He has a good foundation in
groundwork. He has been lunged free and on a lunge line, led from a
car, floated and had his feet done a number of times. Knows to lead
from the side and the front, basic yielding from the ground, backing
up and takes the bit well.
Oct 2011 : Kobbi is being trained under
saddle and doing well, just starting tolt training. Lovely young man
with good nature, may suit a family with some riding experience,
once he finishes this seasons training.
Nov 2011 : Kobbi is a tolt machine ... see
the video of him tolting on his photo page. Has been out riding
around the farm and is lots of fun! Has nice clear beated tolt, and
trot. Must be ridden to get what we're talking about!
Suit a small adult or
confident/intermediate child/teen at this stage.
Lögur is the
boy that catches your attention in the paddock. He has great
conformation
and nice leg action. He shows all gaits, heaps of tölt, &
trots around nicely. He is halter trained and has had lots of
groundwork done with him at the beginning of the year. Lögur
will have more training towards being ridden from October 2011. He
is supple and responsive. At this stage he would suit a confident,
relatively experienced rider/owner to get the most from this amazing
horse. Oct 2011 Lögur has been receiving some training under saddle,
can be ridden off the lunge in the round yard at this stage, doing
transitions between, walk, trot, and halting.
Nov 2011: Logur is ready to start riding
outside of the lunge yard this week. A great horse to work with,
very sensitive and fun to be with.
LEIFTRI – (Sparkling flash)
Chestnut dun - 2.5 + yr old gelding
D.O.B. 14/12/2008
Dam Ember from Haldane - bay dun
Sire Tandri von Roetgen - chestnut
Approx Height: 04/04/11 W 133cm R 131cm
Leiftri is a gorgeous gelding. He
shows all gaits. Joins up well and listens well to voice – has had a
little rope work done in the lunge yard. Has been loaded onto float
and had lots of handling over last summer. Leiftri is sweet,
sensitive and responsive – would suit an owner who has experience &
is confident with young horses.
Henrik – (known as Henry) is from a
line of horses that have easy natural gaits. Has had halter training
and foot trimming done. Curious and interested. NOV 2011 : Henry has
been doing some ground work in the lunge pen and doing really well.
FALKI - ( falcon)
Brown (?) with star - (he is still losing his foal coat so
will be great to see his true colour soon) Gelding
DOB: 11/12/2010
Sire: Haukur from Studlum - palamino
Dam: Perla from Haldane Icelandic Horses
Falki as a foal
April 2010 - Halter training
More photos to come
Gorgeous young gelding. Falki is friendly,
has had basic halter training and had feet done. Good natured young
horse. Kobbi is also by the same mare Perla and her first offspring
under saddle. Horses from Perlas mother Blikas line have been all
really easy riding horses.
Ljósvængur
( Wings of Light)
Palamino gelding
DOB: 26/12/2010
Sire: Haukur from Studlum - palamino
Dam: Miska from Haldane Icelandic Horses
Day one : 26/12/2010
Halter training
April 2011
Ljolli is a sweet gelding. He was a
very friendly baby who would always follow us around the paddock!!
He has had basic haltertraining and feet done. His mum Miska is a
very pretty mare who has very nice offspring. Draumur is also from
Miska and her first foal under saddle, we are very happy with how
well he has progressed with training.
Ljolli is one of the first geldings from
newly imported stallion Haukur.
He needed an amazing name ... hence one
that means "wings of light" however the nickname "Ljolli" also seems
to have stuck.
