The originals!
Our first Icelandic Horses were imported from Denmark in the mid 1990's
They were bought from Gudanadalen Stud. Clyde selected 6 seperate pairs related by their fathers plus one unrelated filly.
We have 3 of the original horses still in our herd enjoying their retirement.

Chestnut with long flaxen mane. Gives offspring who make excellent riding horses. They are smart, sensitive and fun to train with lots of tolt.
Born in Iceland and imported to DK then AU. Gledis offspring have lots of gait - mainly 5 gaited. Sensitive, quirky characters whom are very easy to love and super rewarding to work with.
Stikla has had some amazing offspring. They have lots of tolt and can also be quite forward and willing horses. Very smart and trainable.
Galdur is our foundation stallion. Born in Iceland. Father is the famous Galsi fra Saudakroki
Blika has had some awesome babies. They have lots of tolt and make excellent riding horses. A mix of characters though usually quite fast to train & gait very naturally. Some also show a talent for jumping!
Saga went to pastures in the sky a few years ago. She wasn't a highly fertile mare so only a few horses in Australia alive related to her. She did give a lot of tolt.
The Valkyries came for Venus a few years ago after an injury. She had a number of very nice offspring whom are now riding horses with lots of gait. Her daughter Emma has really kept her line alive with her beautiful babies. Venus herself was a funny character. A little aloof most of the time, but you could do anything with her if needs be.
Geira passed away shortly before we took over the herd from birthing complications. She had three daughters whom have done their bit to pass on their mums unique bloodline.
We missed meeting Visna as she had passed away before we took over the herd. She has one daughter in Australia who carries on her bloodline.
OTHER IMPORTED HORSES
Uncle Clyde imported a young stallion Tandri Von Roetgen from Germany in 2005. His 1/2 brother Gneisti Von Roetgen was imported to NZ at the same time by the Vinbrux family of Vindholar Southern Icelandics. He has since moved to Australia and is standing at stud at Narrawin. Tandri has been a very good stallion for us here with many lovely offspring.

Haukur fra Studlum

To further improve our herd we bought in palmino stallion Haukur fra Studlum from Iceland in 2009. He's a wonderful ambassador for the breed, with his easy going personality, ability to take him out and about and be ridden by many abilities of rider, showing off the ease of tolt.
Haukurs offspring and grandbabies are really lovely and we are so pleased to have found such an amazing boy.
