Equitana Melbourne Nov 2016

We had an amazing trip to Equitana again this year. We took our stallion Haukur fra Studlum who is an absolute pro at Equitana now. Joining us in the breed village was Litli Stadur Icelandics & Great Ocean Road Icelandics - with Birgit's gelding Falinn from Haldane.

It was brilliant to catch up with so many Icelandic horse owners and enthusiasts & we loved being able to show off the breeds traits and special gaits in the riding demonstrations.

Michelle Glorie from Megalong Icelandic Horses rode Haukur in the demos from Friday & it was fun to be able to sit back, take photos and watch the demos instead of having to ride ( though we did have lots of riding together on the first day).

In the Icelandic Horse demos Nele gave a great commentary telling the crowd all about the breed while Birgit (Falinn) & Michelle (Haukur) demonstrated the gaits of the icelandic horse, rode with the Icelandic flags and had heaps of fun showing how smooth the tolt is by doing a beer tolt competition.

The Rocky Mountain team joined in the fun by doing a couple of improvised drill team demos with us to music in the big arena. http://www.rmhorse.com.au/

If you didn't make it to Equitana to see us, feel free to give me a call to arrange a farm visit instead where I can introduce you to the Icelandics and our herd.
